A driving force at VML for nearly 20 years, Jon has served as global CEO since 2011. During his tenure, we’ve grown from 30 employees in Kansas City to more than 2,400 professionals on six continents.
Jon has guided VML through critical stages of global growth and expanded capabilities, continually future-proofing the agency for success in a rapidly changing industry. He has always embodied our mission—to inspire human connection and drive business forward for our client partners.
Jon is a member of the leadership board of the American Association of Advertising Agencies and a member of the WPP Digital Advisory Board. He was recognized as the Advertising Professional of the Year by the American Advertising Federation in 2014. He is also dedicated to giving back, as he serves on the advisory board of the VML Foundation, our employee-funded 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and is member of the Head for the Cure Foundation, a national organization dedicated to brain cancer research.
Jon graduated from the University of Missouri in 1993 with a bachelor of science in journalism. He relishes spending time with his wife, Lisa, and their three daughters. The family especially enjoys hiking together.
Way back in 1999, Amy traded in her desk in the dot-com world of web content and first-generation corporate and community website creation for a seat at VML, where she developed her skills in global account management, presentation-building, and whiteboarding. When she implemented the strategic planning practice at VML, she became responsible for helping our teams understand people at a whole new level and helping brands make better decisions about where they place their bets. Now with a whole team across advisory services, brand planning, research, and performance, she’s not the only one at her whiteboard anymore.
Her brand partners have spanned software to cereal and telcos to toothpastes and have included Sprint, SAP, Kellogg, The Kashi Company, Colgate, and Ford.
Amy is a recognized leader within WPP as well as in the Kansas City advertising industry and women in business community. She earned a Bachelor of Special Studies in American Studies and Writing at Cornell College. Also, she’s probably the only person from North Dakota you’ll ever meet. Follow her @amywinger.
Beth is Chief Marketing Officer, a role created in 2013 to drive growth of the VML brand across an accelerating global footprint. She leads global integration across client engagements, disciplines, strategy and office leadership. She develops strategic marketing initiatives designed to showcase our evolving portfolio of work, and at the same time shepherds the growth of a dynamic, connected culture for VML employees.
Previously, as Chief Client Officer, Beth led client engagement initiatives on key brands as well as new business efforts across North America. With 13 years at VML and over 20 years of agency experience, she is well versed at omni-channel marketing strategies which move brands forward.
She is an advocate for women in leadership and has been recognized by Ingram’s 40 under Forty, WeKC, and has spoken at many events including the Central Exchange Leadership Lyceum. Beth stays involved in her community through the Nelson Atkins Art Leaders program and board appointments.
Beth is a graduate of the University of Missouri with a bachelor's of science in business administration. She spends her free time with her husband and her daughter, who is an aspiring artist.
Brian drives two crucial elements of VML. He heads our innovation practice, which includes partnership development with startups/emerging technology, innovation ideation, MVPs/prototyping, product refinement and launch. He also leads our channel activation team, comprised of a diverse set of services including social media, mobility, paid media, paid search/SEO, PR, content marketing and CRM disciplines.
Brian joined VML in 1999 and his portfolio of past and present client partners include Dell, Ford, Gatorade, the International Olympic Committee, Kellogg’s, the National Basketball Association, Sprint, Southwest Airlines, Sporting KC, Tennessee Tourism and Wendy’s.
A graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism, Brian has a passion for innovation and strategy, loves the pursuit of the big idea, and finds it ironic that the faster technology moves the less time people think they have. Away from the office, he spends most of his time with his wife and children and occasionally scares fish and fishermen with his startling fly-fishing skills.
Chris serves as Executive Director of VML’s offices in Atlanta, Georgia, and Bogotá, Colombia. In his more than 22 years with marketing communications companies, he has earned the privilege to influence some of the world’s most admired brands including Kimberly-Clark, Darden Restaurant Group, Xerox, Bausch & Lomb, UPS, The Home Depot, Delhaize America, Merial Animal Health and others.
Chris began his advertising career in media and then transitioned into client engagement. He is all about team performance and is most proud when his clients and colleagues earn recognition for their intelligence and hard work. He's even celebrated earning Effie Award recognition in each of the last three years.
Chris joined VML in 2010. A graduate of Terry College of Business at the University of Georgia with a BBA in marketing, he lives in Sandy Springs, Georgia, with his wife and their two daughters. He enjoys traveling with his family and tinkering with creative pursuits in music and photography. Chris was a founder and former chairman of the board of the Heards Ferry Education Foundation. He is also a current member of the 4A’s Atlanta Council Board of Directors.
As VML’s Chief Client Officer, Chuck is responsible for driving engagement, collaboration, and innovation throughout our partner-focused approach. His dedication to operational excellence, team growth and client satisfaction sets the tone for more than 150 VML client engagement professionals.
In his role as Executive Vice President in Kansas City, Chuck leads the business portfolio for the VML’s headquarters operations.
Since joining VML in 2000, Chuck has driven key cross-channel initiatives for many of the agency’s leading client partners, including Gatorade, Tropicana, PepsiCo, Wendy's, Southwest Airlines, Equinox, U.S. Soccer and many more.
Chuck graduated from Rockhurst University in Kansas City with a degree in marketing and a minor in communications. He earned his MBA from RU's Helzberg School of Management with a focus in international marketing and management, and currently serves on the school's advisory board.
Away from work, Chuck enjoys time with his wife and two daughters. He’s also an avid golfer and has a passion for all things related to his native Colorado — especially the Denver Broncos.
As Chief Operating Officer, Craig leads vital aspects of VML, including channel activation groups, project operations management, human resources, talent acquisition and properties. He ensures VML meets the evolving needs of both clients and employees by removing obstacles to great work and growth.
Craig also takes charge of cross-discipline and cross-office integration, workforce planning and organizational strategy. He is involved in strategic planning for VML Nashville, Atlanta and Bogota, and helps manage a variety of our relationships with partner companies.
Before joining VML in 2004 as Director of Client Service, Craig spent two years at Burger King as Vice President of Global Advertising and Promotions. There, he managed a budget of over $300 million, including creative, media, multi-cultural, kids marketing, merchandising and cross promotional programs. Before that, Craig spent 10 years as Managing Director of Worldwide Advertising and Sponsorships at Northwest Airlines, and managed a $100 million budget for domestic and international advertising.
Craig started his marketing career in Los Angeles and spent six years in account management, primarily at J. Walter Thompson.
Debbi has earned a reputation for exceptional, award-winning creative that drives business for clients and connects with consumers in a variety of channels and places. Her creative leadership has enabled VML to become one of the top global agencies today. Since joining VML in 2000, she has led creative engagements for brands such as Colgate-Palmolive, Dell, Gatorade, Kellogg’s, Revlon, Wendy’s, Xerox and many others.
She has served on international award juries from Cannes to One Show to CLIOs, and VML’s creative teams have garnered accolades from all the top international shows, including Cannes Lions, ANDY Awards, Art Directors Club, CLIO Awards, Effie Awards, Facebook Awards, London International Awards, New York Festivals, One Show, Spikes Asia, Tomorrow Awards and Webby Awards.
Debbi was recognized by Advertising Age's Woman to Watch 2014, honoring up-and-coming women in marketing. A strong supporter of initiatives advancing women in creative leadership and mentoring talent to help women develop the interpersonal skills it takes to succeed, she proves just what's possible on a daily basis.
As head of VML West, Eric is focused on making us one of the world’s most inventive marketing agencies.
Since joining VML in 1994, Eric has designed and implemented many top brands’ first-ever online presence and helped guide their continuing evolution. His client list includes Sprint, adidas, Diageo, Ernst & Young, The Gap, REI, T-Mobile and WPP, where he led creative strategy and development.
Eric continues to deliver global innovation for some of the world's most distinguished brands. He recently served as the Global Creative Lead for Team Microsoft, which consists of five companies and over 300 team members in 50 countries. Over his tenure, he's also served as VML Chief Creative Officer and Chief Innovation Officer.
His work has won numerous awards, including Cannes Lions, the International Academy of Visual Arts, ADDYs, CA, W3, Print, Webbys and more.
Eric continues to push the boundaries of digital and social engagement, design, innovation and communication technology in both business-to-business and consumer spaces. He is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and workshops around the world.
As VML’s President, Eric provides strategic leadership across our global offices, ensuring continued growth for current client engagements and new business efforts. He is known for his inventive ways of connecting with client partners to help them navigate the constantly-changing marketing landscape.
Since joining VML in 1999, Eric’s been pivotal in the evolution of our capabilities across departments and client teams. He applies his strategic, creative, technological and operational experience to deliver unique solutions. Eric has been central to expanding the VML footprint as the leading strategic partner for the world’s most forward-thinking brands.
Eric has also serves on the VML Executive Leadership Team, currently as Chief Business Officer, where he’s responsible for business development. He lead the launch of VML Seattle in 2004 with the Microsoft business, and has been integral in VML’s inclusion in other Team WPP operations.
In his free time, Eric enjoys spending time with his family. He is also an avid baseball fan and enjoys the lifelong challenge of improving his golf game. He graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a Bachelor of Science in graphic arts technology management.
As Executive Director of VML Chicago, Jane is responsible for leading and growing our Chicago-based team. She’s an agency veteran, with close to 25 years experience leading teams of diverse professionals and helping brands connect with consumers.
Jane joined Biggs|Gilmore in 1993, and was instrumental in transitioning this regional traditional agency into a digitally centric marketing organization focused on building CPG brands. She helped Biggs|Gilmore gain industry recognition, securing the title of AdAge Agency of the Year in 2010, as well as Top Agency in the 2011 and 2012 WebAwards.
In 2014, the agency became fully integrated into VML’s network, and Jane, along with business partner, Mike Gerfen, assumed roles on our executive leadership team. She continues to apply her experience and expertise in the CPG category to brands including Kimberly-Clark’s Kleenex, Cottonelle, Scott and Viva.
Jeff has spent over 12 years at VML growing our world-class technology capabilities. As Chief Technology Officer, he is equal parts strategist and facilitator, assisting clients to understand adoption, implementation and operational impact of digital technology.
Jeff is the visionary behind VML’s platforms and experiences practice. He drives VML to unify strategy, program management, design, technology and data to produce new brand ecosystems and products.
Jeff has shaped many of our most pivotal client engagements through his balanced understanding of consumers, business and technology. He has diverse experience across clients such as Ford, Kellogg's, Kimberly Clark, Microsoft and Sprint.
He’s been recognized by Kansas City TechWeek’s Tech100 and Ingram’s “40 under 40” which recognizes emerging leaders in the region. He is also on the board of advisors for both KCNext and Digital Sandbox – KC.
Jeff graduated from the University of Kansas with both a bachelor of science and M.B.A. in computer science. He remains active with the school, serving on the advisory board for the KU School of Business. He lives in Saint Joseph, MO, with his wife Jenny and two children Evelyn and Graham.
Jim joined VML’s executive management team in 2007 as the agency’s Chief Financial Officer. Jim is responsible for managing the finance and accounting functions of VML, including financial reporting, contract negotiation, billing, collection, payroll and budgeting as well as supporting the organization’s financial analysis and reporting needs. He also manages the financial reporting relationships with VML’s parent company WPP.
Jim is a Certified Public Accountant whose career spans more than 25 years. Most recently he served as Vice President of Finance and CFO for Saia, Inc., one of the most successful regional shipping firms in the United States. His financial experience also includes work for YRC Worldwide, where he managed corporate budget and financial reporting and consolidation processes as Director of Corporate Accounting, and Arthur Andersen, where he led audits, financial consulting and other engagements for clients in diverse industries.
Jim is a graduate of the University of Missouri-Columbia with a Bachelor of Science degree in accountancy. When Jim is not “crunching numbers,” he enjoys spending time with his family, following his son’s sports teams and playing an occasional round of golf.
As Chief Experience Officer, Juan has combined a rare blend of creative, technical and business strategy knowledge into successful solutions for our clients. He was the visionary behind such industry landmarks as MyCokeRewards and continues to deliver award-winning work for some of the world’s largest brands.
Juan has spent his career creating experiences that connect people and brands. Over more than 20 years, he has been involved in many industry milestones, including the first worldwide webcast for Earth Day, the first digital consumer electronics catalog for Toshiba USA, and Mattel’s shift from toys to play through the creation of BarbieGirls.com.
He is a recognized expert in user-generated content, online communities and virtual worlds. He is also a charismatic speaker with a proven ability inspire teams to deliver superb creative work.
Prior to joining VML, Juan was the Chief Creative and Technical Officer for iKioskos, a leading provider of Internet-enabled public access kiosks and Founding Partner/Creative Director for Azurian, one of the largest new media design and consulting companies in Latin America. He holds a bachelor of fine arts degree from the School of Visual Arts.
As Executive Director of VML's Kalamazoo office, Mike heads up a full team serving a range of clients including Kellogg's, Kimberly-Clark and Stryker.
He joined Biggs|Gilmore in 1987 in account management and spent 13 years as co-owner and president. During this time, he was responsible for overall operations and overseeing their development group, ensuring that the agency stayed ahead of the technology curve. Biggs|Gilmore joined the global VML family in 2014, Mike and his business partner, Jane Tamraz, assumed roles on the executive leadership team as executive directors of VML.
A Western Michigan University graduate, Mike has a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. His experience includes clients in consumer packaged goods, healthcare, and business-to-business markets.
Mike is dedicated to instilling VML’s culture and working with the rest of the executive leadership team to ensure we remain our clients’ most important partner.
As both the Managing Director and Executive Creative Director of VML New York, Mike leads the agency on a variety of domestic and global accounts including Dell, Chevron, Motorola, Shiseido, Legoland, NBA, Kellogg’s, International Olympics Committee, Hillshire Farms, Ballpark and Xerox.
Known for his creative insight and passion for ideas, Mike has moved comfortably between all disciplines of marketing for a wide range of clients. Possessing strong leadership skills, a never-say-quit attitude and a questionable sense of humor to match, he believes great ideas can live and come from anywhere. More importantly, that those ideas embed themselves into the audience in a way that enriches their daily lives.
Mike has over a decade of management experience and has worked with business-to-business and business-to-consumer clients across industries as diverse as health care, consumer products, telecom and chemicals. His award-winning work for Virgin, Xerox, adidas, LG, and ESPN has proven his ability to articulate complex issues with strategically smart solutions.
Mike is responsible for integrating key disciplines and overseeing our Platforms & Experiences practice in North America. He has been a member of the executive leadership team that’s shaped VML’s success and direction for more than 20 years.
Mike leverages his vast digital experience to deliver superior strategy and engaging experiences using channels, technology and creative. He provides strategic leadership across a number of industries including CPG, transportation, financial services and more.
Mike’s unyielding passion for combining innovative marketing and technology to solve client needs has been a major contributor to VML's success. His knowledge of the digital space and ability to provide actionable plans have helped lead the way in giving clients forward-thinking solutions. Under his leadership, VML teams have won a number of industry awards.
Before joining VML, Mike was involved in various aspects of digital marketing and sales since 1981. He attended the University of Missouri for business studies.
In his spare time, Mike enjoys spending time with his family, serving in the community and reading a good book.
Aden is the Managing Director and Executive Creative Director of VML Australia and New Zealand, the region’s fastest-growing and most-awarded digital creative, content and technology agency.
Aden has been the driving force behind groundbreaking campaigns for the likes of Microsoft, Hyundai, Kellogg's and McDonald’s. He continues to deliver influential digital projects for the Commonwealth Bank, AMEX, ASB Bank and SPARK in NZ, in addition to leading product and service design innovations for businesses like Rip Curl & NSW Government.
Aden helped launched VML into Australia in early 2012, which now boasts almost 100 employees and a number of the region’s most coveted accounts. Since opening, VML has become the #1 digital agency in the country, and is ranked #7 globally on the prestigious WARC100 list.
An industry leader in his own right, Aden is on the advisory boards of multiple startups, and is the author of a leading global digital marketing and technology blog: Digital Buzz. He also sits on the digital committee of the Communications Council of Australia and judges at a host of local and international advertising award shows.
As Managing Director, Chris is responsible for defining VML London’s vision and steering the agency toward healthy growth, profitability and an outstanding reputation. He has managed the business for five years, building capabilities to help our clients thrive in a world of constant change and creative opportunity.
VML London has focused on delivering connected brand experiences by combining data, content and technology in creative ways. Under Chris' leadership, we've gotten three big, consecutive agency wins that have spurred our growing employee base, ensuring VML London will be a growing force in London's agency landscape for years.
In addition to chairing the management and operations teams to unite the diversity of people and skills toward a shared vision and goals in London, Chris also sits on the VML Global Leadership team.
Before leading VML London, Chris was the Head of Digital Strategy, in which he focused on keeping our clients relevant and competitive. By understanding the vast number of complex market forces, how they affect the external industry and our internal operations, he helped directed how each should adapt.
Dariusz has made an impact in the advertising industry for over 18 years, 10 years of which he spent working with network agencies such as DDB and McCann Erickson. In 2008, he co-created the Heureka Group holding, which became one of the leading agencies in the Polish digital advertising market, and became a part of the VML global network in 2013.
As Chief Executive Officer, Dariusz leads a team of over 215 professionals to deliver groundbreaking work to a variety of clients. Split between Warsaw and Krakow, VML Poland has earned over 80 industry awards and even been named the Interactive Agency of the Year and the Interactive Group of the Year.
He frequently is a speaker at industry seminars, acts as a member of the EFFIE Organizational Committee, and has recently been honored as Professional of the Year by the Mixx Awards jury, as well as the Advertising Person of the Year by Brief magazine.
Dariusz is a graduate of the University of Warsaw Faculty of Journalism and Political Science, where he also studied on the Interfaculty Studies in the Humanities.
Fernando has led VML Brasil since its launch in 2011, collaborating on the introduction of several brands to the Brazilian market, including Groupon, Expedia, Netflix and Dafiti. He has led digital evolution engagements for brands such as Colgate-Palmolive, Oi telecom, GE, Kimberly-Clark and DeVry. Under his leadership, VML Brazil has been recognized as a digital leader by Grupo Consultores.
His strong commitment to clients’ business results has helped build true partner-agency relationships. His passion for innovation has led VML to create Colgate’s first web series in the market and to introduce the largest retailer, Casas Bahia, on e-commerce.
He is a digital media enthusiast and has served as key speaker in several online media festivals and seminars.
In addition to leading VML Brazil, Fernando is a major supporter of social initiatives and often collaborates with the Attorney General’s Office of São Paulo. Through VML Brazil pro-bono work, he helps bring to light several important social causes of the country.
As Director of Digital Strategy, Hideki leads the VML Tokyo offering.
He drives our capabilities beyond web development and digital marketing, guiding our internal teams and clients alike to create cutting-edge ad technology. Hideki brings together VML's rich experience in digital campaigns and strong technical advantage to consistently deliver results at a speed still unmatched in Japan.
With over a decade of experience in web design and digital marketing for the Japanese market, Hideki continues to provide digital strategy consulting to consumer brands such as L’Oreal, Danone, Kirin, Unilever, Pernod Ricard, Schick, and Shiseido.
As CEO and Chief Creative Officer at VML South Africa, Jason drives a diverse group of professionals to deliver creative, fully-integrated work including digital, mobile, identity design, branded content, and more.
Jason is an accomplished entrepreneur whose impressive creative ventures span all areas of media, from film and TV to music and the internet. He’s been a driving force as an interactive agency founder, CEO, award-winning commercial and film director, founder of a branded entertainment agency, and co-founder of a production company.
Before NATIVE, Jason served for years as Executive Creative Director at Y&R South Africa, where he played a vital role in winning several major accounts.
Since NATIVE became a part of the VML global network in 2013, Jason has helped the agency win a host of local and international awards, and led us to earn a ranking in the Top 5 Large Agencies at the Loerie Awards in 2014, while also winning a total of 9 awards, two of them gold.
He is actively involved in the industry serving on the Creative Circle EXCO and the IAB SA Agency Committee. Recently, Jason was crowned All Africa Entrepreneur of the Year at the annual CNBC All Africa Business Leaders Awards, which honors remarkable leadership and business game changers. Jason also regularly judges local and international award shows including Loeries, Andy, Webby, New York Festivals and the Creative Circle.
Javier Dorrego is an experienced leader in digital marketing and advertising with more than 13 years of experience in the field. Javier become part of the VML global leadership team in 2015, when his company Crossmedia became a part of the VML global network. Crossmedia (now VML Mexico) was recently named Digital Marketing Agency of the Year by Mexico’s leading advertising industry magazine, Merca2.0.
Both Javier and VML Mexico embody VML’s open and collaborative approach. Javier continues in his role as Chief Executive Officer, and continues to bring digital experience, strategic intelligence, and a unified team together to guide our client partners through a competitive landscape.
Javier is a native of Argentina, and holds a degree in engineering. He’s worked with a wide range of brands, including Banamex, Citibank, eBAY, LG, Mexicana de Aviacion, Hoteles.com and more.
Simon is the Regional Executive Director for VML in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. His role is primarily focused on bringing digital capabilities and expertise for developing client business in the region, by both expanding the VML operational footprint and integrating digital services into Y&R's country offices.
Simon previously served as creative director for over 25 years. He also boasts experience as regional creative director for Wunderman Asia Pacific and later executive creative director for Wunderman EMEA.
Joining VML in 2008 as Executive Creative Director for both VML London and the EMEA region, Simon established VML's first European operation. In 2009 Simon took on the Managing Director position for VML EMEA and then an additional role for Y&R as Executive Digital Director in 2011.
Simon has served as a judge for the Cannes Cyber Lions; he also judged the One Show Awards in New York. His own awards include Cannes Lion, Echo, Epica and Clio, among others. When time permits, Simon is a keen surfer and mountain biker.
Tripti has been with VML Singapore since 2005, and has led the agency as Chief Executive Officer since early 2008. Tripti has been a driving force behind VML’s expanded capabilities in digital and mobile, and has driven her team to become a top integrated marketing agency in Southeast Asia & India. Her presence has even helped VML expand in the region by the opening of offices in Mumbai, New Delhi and Jakarta.
In her executive leadership role, Tripti consults on client businesses including Kelloggs, ICICI, 3M, Wendy’s, Revlon and Castrol. Regularly sought for opinion on all matters digital, Tripti judges award shows and speaks at diverse conferences including keynotes at ad:tech and CrowdSourcingWeek Global.
Tripti has worked extensively in Asia, the Middle East and in the US, leading teams and helping client businesses to harness the power of the digital medium.
A graduate from the Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, with a Bachelor's of Engineering in Electrical and Electronics, Tripti spends her free time with her husband and their two children. She enjoys reading, running and yoga.
As Chief Executive Officer, Yi-Chung is focused on managing company growth through cross-discipline integration, planning and organizational strategy.
Before VML China, Yi-Chung was a Marketing VP at PepsiCo Greater China, where he managed its portfolio of sparkling brands, as well as marketing strategy, insights and innovation functions. Yi-Chung was also previously a principal strategy consultant at Monitor Group, where he guided major international companies on their Asia growth strategies.
Yi-Chung graduated from the London School of Economics and Political Science with a master’s degree in econometrics and mathematical economics.
