Trama Vol I: Intimate Absence
An invitation to consider our relationships, the corporeal, and encounters in the era of digital oversupply
Platforms amplify promises, the real economy blocks the conditions for bonding (because there's no time, no money, no energy, or no place), and together they produce a suspended intimacy, more available on screens than in real life.
Sex ceases to be the symbolic center of intimacy and transforms into just another data point within the informational ecosystem. The erotic is no longer measured in experiences, but in metrics: likes, reactions, engagement.
Dating platforms serve a paradoxical function: they promise to help you find the love of your life, yet their business model hinges on us spending most of our time there, connecting with people. Described by some of their own users as a 'gondola of humans,' they contribute to generating FOBO (Fear of Better Options), or the fear of always finding better options of people available for connection.
