Entertainment Agency of the Year & 1st in PR at Cannes
In rankings released last weekend by the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, VML has been named Entertainment Agency of the Year and ranked first in the PR category.
In Entertainment, VML won six Lions, including gold in Talent: Film, Series & Audio for Absolut, leading Pernod Ricard to be recognized as one of the Top 10 brands in the Alcoholic Drinks category.
The Entertainment category celebrates creativity that turns content into culture. Winners demonstrate ideas that are unskippable: work that captivates viewers, communicates a brand message or connects with consumers in a new way.
In PR, #NuggsForCarter and Twitter Beef won six Lions, leading Wendy's to be listed in the Top 10 in the Retail & Restaurants category.
PR Lions celebrate creative work that successfully builds trust and cultivates relationships with credible third parties. Winning work utilizes earned media to influence public dialogue, changing perceptions and behaviors in ways that enhance the reputation and business of a brand.
VML's work for LEGOLAND Florida Resort resulted in the brand placing No. 2 in Travel, Transport and Tourism.

In addition, VML was ranked in the Top 10 across a broad range of other categories including Cyber, Design, Entertainment, Entertainment Music and Mobile.
Overall, VML ranked as one of the Top 20 agencies in North America. VML's offices in South Africa and Australia placed in the Top 10 in their regions.
The journey to winning the Lions this year began with VML's first Lion just five years ago. VML has experienced rapid growth in recognition, hitting its pinnacle this year. The agency more than doubled its wins from 2016, achieving a record 27 Lions, including two gold, 13 silver, 12 bronze and 26 shortlist recognitions across 16 categories.
The 64th annual Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity, held June 17-24, is the world's largest and most prestigious awards show and festival for the advertising industry.
