NATIVE VML took home 17 birds at the 39th Annual Loerie Awards, which took place this weekend at the ICC in Durban, including two Campaign Gold Loeries for Absolut Vodka and HuffPost, one Gold Craft, four Silver, five Bronze and four Craft Certificates in categories including Television, Film and Video Communication, Integrated Campaign, PR & Media Communication, Media Innovation, Social and Mobile Media.

"It is always great to win at Loeries, but I am particularly proud of our success this year because we won for major iconic brands across a diverse range of categories, demonstrating our positioning as a full-service integrated agency. But what pleases me the most is that we won for work that defies traditional categorisation that steps beyond advertising and into the realm of popular culture. NATIVE VML's gold winning campaigns Absolut One Source and Stop the Cycle enjoyed similar success at Cannes 2017 earlier this year. With Stop the Cycle, The Huffington Post SA teamed up with the NATIVE VML to engineer an engaging way to highlight the increased socio- economic and environmental impact of consumerism and send a clear message to industries and manufacturers that need to be held accountable. By utilising Facebook's 360deg technology, the manufacturing cycle of three industry sectors namely Fashion, Mobile Communications and  Chocolate were revealed.

Absolut One Source saw NATIVE VML, team up with multi-award winning Motswako artist Khuli Chana to launch a pan-African musical collaboration. The integrated campaign, hailed as one of the hottest musical collaborations of its kind, followed Khuli Chana and other leading African musicians as they journeyed across Africa to create a concept album of the same name.
