A Culture of Belonging

At VML Netherlands, we’re an international team of 200 people accomplished experts. A Typical Day at VML Netherlands

You walk through the doors of our first-floor office, greeted by colleagues chatting, grabbing their morning coffees, and with “Goedemorgens!”. You grab your own coffee, exchange a few hellos, and feel right at home. With flexible seating, you pick your spot for the day, as the morning flies by when you dive into work surrounded by good vibes and great energy.

When lunchtime hits, you head downstairs to the canteen, with several options whether that's sandwiches, salads, hot meals, or snacks. You grab a bite, sit with your colleagues, and enjoy your break with some fun conversations. Feeling refreshed, you all take a quick 20-minute stroll around the area before heading back.

Back at your desk, you dive into the afternoon’s tasks and by 4 PM it’s time to unwind. You join the team for the borrel, sip on your drink of choice (beer, wine, or soft drinks), and snack on a bitterballen or two. The weather’s perfect, so you head upstairs to the rooftop to soak in the sun and skyline views. A productive day, great food, good company, and a little fun to top it off.

Our Hiring Process

Step 1: Introduction video call

You’ll get started with a casual first chat to get to know each other a bit better. We’ll talk through your background, what you’re looking for, and give you a quick overview of the role and VML. It’s also a chance to check if the basics line up on both sides like expectations, experience, and general fit before moving forward in the process. Nothing too intense, just a good first connection.

Step 2: Core interview

This first interview is a relaxed, peer-to-peer chat with someone from the team you’d be joining. We’ll dive into your knowledge and experience through a competency-based interview, so expect some questions about how you’ve handled things in the past.

You’ll also get a clear picture of the day-to-day, the kind of work you’d be doing, and what life on the team at VML is really like. It’s the best moment to ask questions and see if the role feels like a good fit for you too!

Step 3: In person interview

The final step is all about getting a feel for each other beyond the role itself. We’ll focus more on mindset match, communication style, and personality fit: just making sure it clicks on both sides. It’s also a great chance for you to experience the team environment firsthand and get a real sense of what makes VML a great place to work.

Step 4: Job offer stage

And just like that you’ve made it to the offer stage! Once everything feels like a good match on both sides, we’ll send over the job offer. Once it’s accepted, we’ll do a quick reference check and get things moving for your start; think paperwork, onboarding prep, and making sure everything’s ready for your exciting first day at VML.
