As the coffee category grows more crowded and transactional, Costa Coffee needed to differentiate itself by going beyond product messages and reasserting its place in people’s daily lives. The opportunity was to create a global brand platform that captured the emotional value of coffee—one that could grow long-term brand affinity.
From the first cup of the day to a quiet catch-up between shifts, coffee rituals carry emotional weight. They create pauses in chaos, connections between people, and comfort in routine. The insight: coffee is not just consumed, it’s experienced. This became the starting point for the new brand platform.
Made With Heart launched with two intimate hero films directed by Tony Barry, telling the relatable stories of a student leaving home and a couple navigating different work shifts, each anchored in the quiet power of a shared Costa Coffee.
