VML's headquarters is as distinctive as the agency itself. VML is located in an airport terminal building at the Charles B. Wheeler Airport in downtown Kansas City, Mo. The site was Kansas City’s main airport between the 1920s and the early 1970s. The original airport terminal was dedicated in 1927 by Charles Lindbergh, and the airport served as the national TWA hub until 1972. While the still-functioning airport serves a wide array of private planes and small commercial operators, VML uses the terminal as its global headquarters, home to more than 400 VMLers.

Over the years, a variety of VML clients have landed their planes at our back door and entered directly through our Gate One office suite. Many celebrities, entertainers and politicians frequent the downtown airport, as has Air Force One. When VML moved into the space in 1996, we occupied a tiny footprint compared to today. At the time, one of VML’s primary clients was a national airline carrier; establishing our headquarters in an airport terminal seemed uniquely appropriate. Today VML has a thriving client partnership with a different leading national carrier — Southwest Airlines — and our distinctive airport home continues to set us apart.

An expanding roster of client partners enabled VML to establish a second Kansas City office in 2004 at the former Marietta Chair Building. The historic four-story, red-brick building — commonly referred to as “20-20” thanks to its street address number — has been home to a variety of entrepreneurial enterprises over the years. VML occupies all of the commercial space in the building. Over the years, major VML client groups have been based at the office, including Colgate-Palmolive, Hill’s Pet Nutrition, Kellogg, Kashi and SAP. VMLers enjoy an abundance of art galleries, independent retail shops, music venues, bars and restaurants in the Crossroads Arts District neighborhood surrounding the office.

For more than a decade, VML has enjoyed a strong presence in New York City. VML currently occupies two floors at 285 Madison Ave., one of advertising’s celebrated addresses. With nearly 100 VMLers based in New York providing a full range of digital marketing capabilities, the office manages a wide range of clients, including the United States Olympic Committee, Saks Fifth Avenue, Cushman & Wakefield and Xerox. VML NYC also works closely with a variety of WPP network agencies. The office is conveniently located between Bryant Park and Grand Central Station.

Opening in 2004, VML Seattle was established to service the agency’s emergent client relationship with Microsoft. Located just north of the city’s downtown, VML Seattle has experienced significant growth with added client partnerships, including T-Mobile and the Seattle Storm women’s WNBA basketball team. From the office rooftop patio, VMLers enjoy an impressive view of downtown Seattle, the famed Space Needle, Lake Union, the Experience Music Project and the Olympic Mountains. Expect this principal VML office to expand as VML Seattle welcomes a growing number of West Coast client engagements.

Based in the iconic Sydney CBD overlooking the Sydney Harbour Bridge and surrounding waterways, VML officially launched its Australian operations in early 2012 to partner foundation clients Emirates, Revlon, Nokia and Hills Pet Nutrition, whilst providing a local full-service offering for our roster of global clients across Australia and New Zealand.

VML Australia also serves as the Young & Rubicam Group's digital backbone, partnering with the agency network (and wider WPP agencies) to deliver digital marketing innovation and enterprise technical solutions for a host of leading brands and retailers in the region.

With an award winning leadership team and over 30 digital natives already on board, the VML team based in Sydney, Australia, is focused on delivering world class digital projects down under.

VML London began operating in 1994, initially established as GT (or Good Technology). In 2010, the operation re-launched as VML London with expanded staff and a wider range of digital marketing capabilities. The office, recognized as the 2008 Revolution Awards Agency of the Year, serves as VML’s British base of operations and VML EMEA headquarters. The growing enterprise delivers creative solutions for some of the most recognized brands in the world, including the Premier League, Xbox, Colgate-Palmolive, Bombay Sapphire and the BBC. VML London is based in Farringdon in the center of London. The neighborhood features diamond shops, the renowned Smithfield meat market and some of the oldest and most celebrated public houses (i.e., pubs) in London.

Founded in 2008, VML Milan is a full-service digital marketing operation and serves as the digital hub for the Young & Rubicam Group. With more than 30 digital marketing professionals, VML Milan provides digital planning, user experience, creative and design, and technology development and implementation.

The growing enterprise works with a wide range of client partners, including Barilla, Bosch, Costa Crociere, Danone and supports VML’s global partnership with Colgate-Palmolive. The office was recognized with an ADCI Italian Art Directors Club bronze award for the Giorgio Armani Samsung Galaxy S campaign; the creative campaign was also recognized by the Art Directors European Club.

VML Milan is based in Milan’s fashion district, located at Via Tortona, 37. In 2011, VML Milan was recognized for bringing the popular social media technology foursquare to Milan.  

VML Brazil, a full-service agency with a respected digital track record, was launched in São Paulo in November 2011. At the time the agency absorbed Brazilian agency Energy’s client portfolio and began operating as a leader in the digital media authorization market. Some of Brazil’s largest brands rely on VML for digital marketing services and technological innovation, including Casas Bahia, Colgate-Palmolive, Groupon, Hopi Hari, Hoteis.com, MINI, Perdigão, NetMovies, Vivo and Dafiti. In its first month of operation, VML Brazil announced an important new client engagement; it had added LG Electronics’ digital account to its portfolio. In 2012, VML Brazil moved into its new headquarters in the fashionable São Paulo district of Pinheiros.

VML Qais Singapore started operations in 2003, initially as Qais Consulting. In 2011, it re-launched as VML Qais, bringing together what was the biggest independent digital agency in Singapore with the best global digital network. With a full services team spanning strategy, research, creative, media and social, VML Qais has won multiple awards for clients including some Webbies, a Singapore Effie, a Googlie, an IAS award and a Digital Media award for a wide range of clients including Hilton Hotels, Changi Airport, Wego.com, the Esplanade and Standard Chartered Bank. The client roster has been growing and now includes Sony, Sony Pictures, Dell, the Prime Ministers Office and the Ministry of Defence.

VML Qais Singapore is based out of a shophouse in Stanley Street. It is on the borderline between the narrow old streets of Chinatown to one side, and the skyscrapers of the Central Business District on the other. A second office has recently been opened around the corner to cater to the growth in the business. Planned as a war room, it has since been named (appropriately enough) Sparta.

VML Qais Mumbai started operations in 2009, and has picked up an impressive roster of clients including Vodafone, Tata Motors, ICICI Bank, the Mahindra Group, Volkswagen and General Motors. The work has been inspiring, be it defining the Emerging Markets digital blue prints for Vodaphone, or developing the product vision through research for Tata Motors, or helping Mahindra to launch a new brand positioning, Rise, led by a social media fueled movement to bring positive change to India. We are delighted to have been awarded gold for the Mahindra Blog and silver for SparkTheRise.com in the WAT Awards, 2012.

VML Qais Mumbai sits in the Parel district. This former Portuguese colony was once the center of the cotton industry. As the vast cotton mills became un-economical to run here, a Bohemian mix of restaurants, bars, hotels, shopping malls, TV and music companies (including MTV) - and of course ad agencies - re–invigorated the area, to make it the thriving center that it is today.
