13:35 - 14:05 Round 2: Breakout Sessions

Danny Grauwels

AI has a trust problem and it’s not the one everyone’s talking about. The danger isn’t AI that looks broken. It’s AI that looks almost right. This session borrows a concept from robotics - the Uncanny Valley - and applies it to the vibe-coded apps, AI-generated interfaces, and prompt-designed campaigns we're shipping right now. When we signal more sophistication, humanity, or intelligence than we actually deliver, we don’t just disappoint people. We lose their trust. This talk gives you a framework for spotting the valley, recognizing it in your own work, and designing your way out of it.

Danny Grauwels - Strategy Director Technology, VML

‘The Uncanny Valley’ isn’t a design problem; it’s an honesty problem.

Three highlights we'll cover during the session:

  1. A memorable, immediately useable model: Danny will borrow a 1970s robotics concept and apply it to modern AI.
  2. Recognition of the AI challenges we all face: View a highlight reel of AI-driven (marketing) patterns you have definitely seen (and probably shipped).
  3. Four principles you can use tomorrow: Four concrete, workable principles you can use to improve. Not a checklist, but a mindset shift that you can immediately put into action.
