At VML AUNZ, we're searching for a Senior Social Media Creator to be the creative powerhouse behind our clients' organic social channels. This isn't just about scheduling; it's about getting stuck into production, collaborating with our Social Media Manager, and crafting truly unforgettable content that drives engagement. YOUR ROLE IN A NUTSHELL 

As our Social Media Specialist, you'll be a key player in developing, executing, and optimising engaging organic social media plans and strategies. You'll be a content creation legend, bringing deep social knowledge with a solid understanding of organic media programs and a good awareness of paid media. This agile role means you'll be tackling all sorts of social media tasks, chipping in on proactive briefs, and lending a hand with new business opportunities, all while championing social best practices and evolving our agency's approach to social processes and tools. This role will need to be based out of the Brisbane office.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Social Media Management & Content Creation:

  • Develop, manage, schedule, and optimise tactical and always-on organic content programs aligned with client goals.
  • Design and build platform-native organic social content, including Instagram Reels, Stories, and TikTok videos.
  • Skillfully capture and edit organic video content, adhering to platform best practice and emerging trends.
  • Implement and execute community management, fostering engagement and responding to audience interactions.

Social Media Strategy & Insights:

  • Contribute to the development and optimisation of social strategies across all mainstream platforms (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, LinkedIn, Twitter, Snapchat, etc.).
  • Analyse digital campaigns and platform performance using tools like Meta Insights and Sprout Social, pulling out meaningful data and insights.
  • Stay constantly abreast of the latest social media trends and their implications, quickly adjusting strategies as needed.
  • Provide informed points of view on paid social strategy and implementation.
  • Consult with creative teams to develop socially native ideas for major client projects.

Integrated Approach & Tools:

  • Always consider how social plans integrate into overall communications strategies.
  • Contribute to frameworks for the role of social across the customer journey.
  • Utilise key social management, scheduling, and reporting tools effectively.
  • Review website/social analytics to create actionable recommendations.
  • Build strong relationships with agency teams and clients, understanding their social requirements and brand guidelines.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Proven hands-on experience in a social media role.
  • Demonstrated ability and a genuine passion for creating engaging social content, especially video formats like Reels and and TikToks.
  • Strong understanding of organic social media best practices, current trends, and platform nuances.
  • Proficiency with social media management, scheduling, and analytics tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Sprout Social, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyse data, extract meaningful insights, and translate them into actionable recommendations.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced agency environment.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to staying ahead of the curve in the ever-evolving social media landscape.
