Who We Are:

At VML, we are a beacon of innovation and growth in an ever-evolving world. Our heritage is built upon a century of combined expertise, where creativity meets technology, and diverse perspectives ignite inspiration. With the merger of VMLY&R and Wunderman Thompson, we have forged a new path as a growth partner that is part creative agency, part consultancy, and part technology powerhouse.

We deliver end-to-end solutions that result in revolutionary work.

We’re now looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our  team in Auckland on a 7-week contract. This role sits at the operational heart of one of the world’s most iconic FMCG brands, ensuring creative and production work flows seamlessly — from brief to delivery — across multiple markets.

THE ROLE IN A NUTSHELL

You’ll be the central conductor of our creative workflow, coordinating projects for this global FMCG client within our Commerce and Shopper Marketing team.

  • Oversee traffic and workflow management across all NZ projects using our agency workflow tool (HIVE)
  • Liaise with the Australian resourcing team to manage overflow and ensure visibility across both markets
  • Partner with Client Engagement leads to translate project plans and timelines into actionable workflows
  • Coordinate with creative, design, strategy, and production teams to deliver assets accurately and efficiently
  • Maintain momentum, clarity, and quality — ensuring work is delivered right the first time
  • Primarily internal-facing, with occasional client contact where required

WHO YOU ARE

  • A seasoned agency-side Project or Traffic Manager, ideally with creative or studio experience
  • Expert at keeping multiple fast-moving projects on track — with empathy, precision, and calm under pressure
  • Highly organised and proactive communicator who thrives in collaborative, creative environments
  • Experienced with workflow tools (HIVE experience a plus)
  • Bonus points for design literacy or production know-how — helps you speak the same language as the makers

Contract Period: 7 weeks (potential to extend)
Start: ASAP
Reporting to: NZ Client Engagement Lead & AU Resource Manager

If you love bringing order to creative energy — and the idea of helping a global FMCG brand move from concept to shelf excites you — we’d love to hear from you.
