Who we are looking for:

VML is seeking a Senior Art Director for our New York office, dedicated to supporting the Ford business across brand, product, digital, and 360 campaign work. You are a big‑idea generator—a highly conceptual thinker and visual storyteller who can translate strategic insights into world‑class creative. You thrive inside a large, fast‑moving automotive account and help evolve how Ford shows up creatively across all channels

What you’ll do:

  • Big idea thinking: Contribute to conceptually strong, insight-driven ideas that translate across channels and bring them to life through compelling visual storytelling. 
  • Create: Develop and execute high-quality visual concepts across all platforms, delivering exceptional art direction with a strong eye for craft, consistency, and brand integrity. 
  • Collaborate: Partner with Copywriters and ACDs to develop integrated campaigns, working cross-functionally to execute ideas and mentor junior creatives. 
  • Client Facing: Present work clearly and confidently, building trust internally and with Ford partners through strong creative thinking and execution.

What you’ll need:

  • Minimum 5–7 years of experience in a creative advertising agency.
  • A portfolio showcasing strong conceptual thinking and exceptional visual execution across integrated campaigns (broadcast, digital, social, etc.).
  • Expertise in art direction, design, production, photography, and motion/video.
  • Strong understanding of creative development from brief through final execution.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with tight timelines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a high standard for craft.
  • Automotive experience a plus.

The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
