OVERVIEW

VML is seeking a full-time Front-End Developer to join our team in Guatemala.  As a Frontend JavaScript Developer, you will work closely with our design and development teams to create engaging, responsive, and user-friendly web interfaces. This is an excellent opportunity to grow your skills in web development while contributing to real-world projects in a supportive and collaborative environment. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ATTRIBUTES 

  • Develop and maintain user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. 
  • Collaborate with designers to translate wireframes and mockups into responsive web pages. 
  • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs. 
  • Optimize web pages for maximum speed and scalability. 
  • Debug and troubleshoot cross-browser compatibility issues. 
  • Assist in maintaining code quality and adhering to best practices. 
  • Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in front-end development. 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 

  • Solid understanding of semantic HTML5, accessibility best practices, browser debugging tools, and the ability to write clean and maintainable CSS and JavaScript selectors.
  • Familiarity with responsive design principles and frameworks (e.g., Bootstrap, Tailwind CSS). 
  • Basic understanding of version control systems (e.g., Git). 
  • Knowledge of web performance optimization techniques. 
  • Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating user-friendly interfaces. 
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

 

NICE TO HAVE

  • Experience with JavaScript libraries or frameworks (e.g., React, Vue.js, or Angular). 
  • Familiarity with CSS preprocessors like SASS or LESS. 
  • Basic knowledge of RESTful APIs and JSON. 
  • Exposure to tools like Webpack, Vite, or other build systems. 
  • A portfolio or examples of personal/academic projects showcasing your skills.
