CES 2026 is serving up slick and compact AI-powered appliances that could one day make the microwave obsolete. Nosh is an AI robo-chef promises effortless cooking and gives people more time away from the kitchen. The device currently has over 500 recipes to select from and allows people to program their own recipes too. In a live demonstration to VML Intelligence, Amit Gupta, cofounder of Nosh, shows where to place all the ingredients and then simply command it to cook. “Nosh automatically measures and adds the ingredients at the right time,” Gupta explains. “There is a camera which keeps an eye on the pan, which functions like our eyes do, Nosh does it using computer vision or AI.” With this functionality, the device is able to use real-time decision making to determine the cooking stage and when to add the next ingredient, “and that’s how we get that perfect food” says Gupta. Nosh will be launching on Kickstarter in February with hopes to make dining at home more personalized, easy and nutritious.
Food tech innovations are making it harder than ever to skip cooking at home.
Chinese company, Shenzhen Wan AIChef Technology announced its US debut at CES, with the Wan AIChef Ultra taking center stage. In a release, Stanley Huo, general manager of Wan AIChef said, “we are not just launching a product, we are introducing an AI Cooking Agent to American homes,” and adds, “our goal is to build an intelligent ecosystem spanning from kitchen to table that empowers healthier eating, creativity, and ultimately, more meaningful time together at home.” The compact device has over 1,000 recipes and is designed to minimize waste and be personalized.
Taking a more integrated approach, German tech company Bosch had American chef Marcel Vigneron live-demo Auto Chef with the Bosch Cook AI – the latter is currently in its final testing stages. “Bosch Cook AI is powered by generative AI… you take a picture of your ingredients, you tell it the result you want whether its steamed, baked or fried,” explains Vigneron. “Together with Bosch Cook AI and Auto Chef working in conjunction will give you the desired result that you need.” Whilst a chef is still required at the stove, a lot of the intricate timings and temperature handling is taken by Auto Chef, whilst Bosch Cook AI provides real-time cooking guidance.
Meals will be served with a slide of AI and a dash of intelligence, as food tech devices aim to make home cooking more appealing, time-saving and personalized.
