In early May, our team headed to Atlanta for the Digital Shelf Summit 2026. As proud Platinum Sponsors, it was great to catch up with so many partners and join the debate on where the digital shelf is heading next.
 
After three days of conversations with commerce and PXM leaders from across the globe, one thing is clear: the Digital Shelf is changing fast, but the fundamentals haven't gone away.

Here is what we took away from the event:

  • AI agents are a new channel, not a takeover: While Agentic Commerce is real, AI agents aren't replacing shoppers. Instead, think of them as another channel layered onto your existing setup. The basics of good commerce still apply.
  • Clean data is the new competitive moat: The brands winning right now aren't necessarily the ones with the best creative assets. They're the ones whose data is structured, validated, and discoverable. Whether a human or an AI agent is doing the browsing, your product won't sell if it can't be found in the first place.
  • Product pages still close the deal: 95% of AI-driven transactions still complete on retailer PDPs, not inside chatbots. Agentic Commerce raises the stakes on product imagery and content quality; it doesn't replace it.
  • AI is about scale, not substitution: The biggest unlock isn’t AI replacing your team. It’s AI enabling your team to produce higher-quality content for more channels, much faster. Freed-up capacity can go toward strategy, creativity, and growth. But unlocking that opportunity isn’t just a technology decision. It requires change management, clear governance, and human oversight. The opportunity is real: scaling PXM with intelligence, not replacing the people who drive it.

The bottom line: The question isn't "Will AI take over?" It's, "Is your product data ready to perform wherever decisions are being made?"
