Adam Thurland is Chief Strategy Officer, Indonesia, at Wunderman Thompson, where he leads our capability teams across Strategic Planning, Customer Experience, Ecommerce, Data, and Technology

Prior to joining Wunderman Thompson, Adam spent over a decade in China, helping to build one of Shanghai’s most enduring independent creative agencies, and has worked with clients including Aldi Supermarkets, Mercedes, and Coca-Cola, alongside helping countless startups to become established local brand heroes.

Comfortable wearing many hats, Adam started his career as a creative before moving into brand strategy, and human-centered design. Leveraging this hybrid background, he approaches challenges from a multidisciplinary perspective, and loves to facilitate diverse minds coming together to provide value for brands.

Adam is passionate about using his experience to help social start-ups & entrepreneurs.

Most recently, he was a founding team member at, a volunteer-led platform connecting people on furlough in the UK with opportunities at good causes during the Covid-19 pandemic.
