Emma Chiu is Global Director of VML Intelligence, VML’s in-house futures, foresight and innovation think tank. She leads the agency’s global trend and futures practice, helping organizations understand how the world is—and isn’t—changing, and what that means for long-term growth and transformation.

Emma has played a pivotal role in shaping VML’s future-facing intellectual property, including The Future 100—the agency’s flagship annual trends almanac that spotlights the most impactful cultural, consumer and innovation shifts shaping the year ahead. Her thought-leadership work has earned global coverage in The New York Times, Vogue and The Washington Post, and has helped establish VML Intelligence as a leading strategic foresight capability within the WPP network.

Beyond identifying emerging trends, Emma works closely with clients to turn foresight into action. She advises on long-term strategy informed by qualitative and quantitative insight, spanning cultural and behavioral change, sector innovation and shifting zeitgeists. Her work has supported some of the world’s most influential brands, including The Coca-Cola Company, LVMH, Microsoft and Unilever.
