Jarred is a long-time pioneer in South Africa’s advertising landscape. He began his career in digital advertising in the early 90s when the internet was still new and not well understood. As a result, he learnt almost everything he knows on the job and has helped shape the digital marketing industry in SA, starting the country’s first digital agency in the process. This ultimately led to his becoming Joint CEO of VMLY&R South Africa.

During his three decades in the industry, Jarred has been at the forefront of its evolution from making gimmicky, disruptive ads to creating meaningful work grounded in research and technology, which enriches customers’ lives while delivering maximum ROI for clients.

Jarred enjoys working with visionary, purpose-driven brands. Over the course of his career, he has worked with Vodacom, Nando’s, Hollard, Standard Bank, Nedbank, Pick n Pay, Investec, Momentum Metropolitan, British American Tobacco and Colgate, to name but a few. He is also a board member of the ACA and a founder of the IAB South Africa.
