Jens is the creative powerhouse and Chief Creative Officer of VML Copenhagen. With more than 20 years of global experience in leading award-winning work across Europe and beyond, he’s responsible for shaping the creative vision for clients and brands. He also serves on the VML EMEA Creative Board.
What he brings to VML
Originally from Norway, Jens has built a career that spans continents, agencies, and cultures. As a self-proclaimed creative nomad, he spent 10 years as part of the creative leadership of BBDO New York and Goodby Silverstein & Partners, San Francisco, before returning to Europe to lead creative at the Scholz & Friends Group in Germany for four years.
For over two decades, Jens has brought big idea thinking to some of the world’s most iconic brands, including AT&T, FedEx, Snickers, Gillette, BMW, Guinness, Subway and Visa. In the U.S., he oversaw all creative output for Comcast/Xfinity, as well as supervising film, experiential and digital productions. In Germany, he helped build and lead the creative department behind McDonald’s Germany campaigns.
His work has earned more than 450 awards from major shows, including Cannes Lions (Gold and multiple Lions), the Grand Prix at the YouTube Awards, and a place in the permanent collection of New York’s Museum of Modern Art. Jens has also served on juries for the Cannes Lions, London International, the AICP and other leading creative festivals.

Jens loves spending time with his wife and children, surrounded by a constant flow of music, art and sports.
