Smart sensors that trigger Alexa to emit warning voice messages prerecorded by parents.

Every year, around 10 million children worldwide are rushed to the emergency room after being injured at home. Over 2,000 dies. It only takes a few seconds of parental distraction for such a young life to end. Besides this, research show that children have an exceptional ability to recognize their parents' voices and respond to their commands. This is due to a combination of biological, psychological, and neurological factors developed from infancy. This means that parents' voices are often associated with authority and instruction, making commands more likely to elicit immediate responses.

That is why we developed Don't Touch This, aiming to stop kids from getting close to dangerous objects and areas. And when they do so, the device also sends real-time alerts to parents' phones and smartwatches so they can act.

An innovative, simple idea that ends with parents' worst nightmare to give them a few extra life-saving seconds to react and protect the ones they love most.

Knowing that children react to their parents' voice immediately, in addition to its core functionality, the server integrates a custom Alexa skill specifically designed for voice message playback. This skill enables Alexa to deliver personalized warning messages prerecorded by parents whenever a child approaches a restricted area. By leveraging Alexa’s capabilities, the system provides an intuitive and familiar interface for parents and children alike.

Don’t Touch This is a smart sensor system designed to keep children safe by triggering Alexa to emit warning voice messages prerecorded by parents. The system aims to prevent kids from approaching dangerous objects or areas, such as stoves, electrical outlets, or toolboxes. If a child enters a restricted zone, the device not only plays the warning message but also sends real-time alerts to parents' smartphones and smartwatches, enabling them to take immediate action.

These sensors can be positioned near hazardous spots or items within the home. When the child gets too close, the sensors activate, leveraging the familiarity of the parents’ voice to reinforce the warning and discourage the child from proceeding further.

By combining smart sensors, voice recognition, and real-time notifications, Don’t Touch This offers an innovative solution for enhancing child safety. This system not only provides peace of mind for parents but also empowers them to actively monitor and respond to potential dangers, helping to prevent accidents before they happen.

To date, 30 families joined our experience trial of the prototype. The prototype piqued the interest of one of the industry leaders in home automation and two groups of investors to scale production. The launch strategy focuses on US market for the first two years and encompasses a plan to go internationally in the following two.
