Who we are looking for: 

VML is seeking an Account Coordinator to augment the larger account management team’s initiatives for our largest client in the government sector. The Account Coordinator performs a crucial support role on the team and should be flexible, proactive, responsive, and organized. You will establish excellent working relationships and immerse yourself in the advertising industry by asking questions, seeking new experiences, and subsequently building your knowledge base. 

What you’ll do: 

  • Learn and develop | In supporting the broader account team, you’ll learn about multiple projects spanning traditional campaign development and media to innovative digital and product work. You’ll need to be nimble, proactive, curious and diligent, all while interfacing with multiple departments within our VML network. 
  • Own communications | Collaborate with Account Supervisors and Project Managers to create and assemble reports, pull performance data, contribute to status meetings with clients and internal team, and manage necessary follow-ups with agency departments, WPP partner agencies, and vendors as necessary.  
  • Partner | Coordinate with other departments and support multiple teams. Ensure seamless client experiences by partnering with IT and Facilities teams to arrange in-person and virtual meetings. 

Who you are: 

  • Eager | Whether you're just starting out in your career, or a year or two into agency life, this role is best suited to someone who is ready and willing to learn. Enthusiasm and strong listening skills are appreciated.  
  • An Anticipator | Supports the activities of other members of the team. Manages expectations by facilitating progress of the team and advising of any delays while proactively finding solutions for situations as needed. Demonstrates the ability to juggle many projects at once while being able to prioritize each task. 
  • Detail-oriented | Has an eye for the details; checks and double checks any work, especially final deliverables for perfect accuracy. Rigorously applies client brand identity and brand guidelines to all materials. Ensures all creative work is compliant and reviewed by the legal team prior to being presented. 
  • Ego-less | We all wear the hats that need wearing- it’s a mentality that makes the team successful. 

What you’ll need: 

  • 1-2 years of advertising agency experience, or relevant internships   
  • Excellent communication skills including both verbal and written 
  • A go-getter attitude – no task is too small 
  • Multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment 
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook 
  • Strong problem-solving skills  
  • Time management skills
