Outside of work, VML Technical Architect Mark Gilbert has dedicated much of his time over the past few years to a project with his daughter, Katherine. Mark and Katherine will be launching a helium balloon into the stratosphere, complete with a camera and sensors to track GPS, barometric pressure and temperature, as well as a radio to transmit data back to Earth.

Shave to Save

Ten years ago, VML partnered with the Kansas City chapter of the American Cancer Society to create Shave to Save. Since then, more than 25 VMLers have participated in the event - shaving their heads to raise money for The Hope Lodge.

The Head for the Cure Foundation is an organization dedicated to raising awareness and funding in the fight against brain cancer. Dedicated to the memory of former VMLer Chris Anthony, the Head for the Cure Foundation has received marketing support from VML for over a decade.
