.Who we are looking for:
VML is looking for a Director Strategy to lead the digital engagement across an iconic automotive brand. This role requires a proven leader with a track record of translating consumer, competitive and industry insights into simple, thoughtful product solutions that solve business problems and deliver inspiring experiences. The Director Strategy will be a key lead – collaborating with internal cross-discipline teams, our clients in the delivery of insight generation, platform transitions, product development roadmaps & cycles and leading UX and digital experiences.
To succeed in this role, you must be proactive in managing projects and clients. You should be an advocate for the user, have a passion for experiences that connect physical and digital worlds, and continually push, disrupt, challenge, and innovate ensuring that we’re doing the best work. This role reports directly to the Executive Director Strategy.
What You’ll Do:
- Translate client business priorities, objectives, and needs into digital experiences.
- Understanding of digital execution excellence and MarTech/AdTech including, automation, personalization, dynamic creative, CRM, CMS, and DAM capabilities.
- Collaborate and work closely with analytics team to develop comprehensive measurement and tracking plans to measure key performance and develop optimization recommendations.
- Play a key role in building trusted relationships with clients and collaborate closely with Creative, Data, technology, Analytics, Product, Project and Account leads and teams.
- Present directly to clients, gaining trust by telling a concise and compelling story around strategy and approach.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to develop and manage realistic timelines and project plans.
- Conduct audience target/profiling analysis and perform competitive assessments.
- Work closely with UX and technology leads to ensure strategy outputs appropriately influence consumer-facing implementations.
What you’ll need:
- 7+ years of strategy experience at advertising, digital and/or creative agencies, consultancy or product management led organizations with interest in automotive, particularly EV market evolution.
- Must have experience working on digital products (websites, ecommerce, SaaS, apps).
- A clear point of view and confidence in it, while having the openness and interest to listen to clients and teammate's perspectives.
- Direct experience working within Agile or SAFe Agile frameworks and alignment with agile mindset.
- Experience with enterprise websites and large support teams.
- Optimization and efficiency focused while working with cross functional teams.
- Ability to play high and low - focus on process and collaboration vs direct impact on deliverables produced, while also able to deliver on fast, tactical briefs as needed.
- Cross-discipline knowledge – know how to partner with and leverage data and SEO.

The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
