FINANCE ANALYST - (AP, AR, Month-End)
Location: Toronto, Ontario or Montreal, Quebec
Type: Temporary, full time
Duration: 12-month contract
Start: August 5th, 2025
About the Role
We are seeking a highly detail-oriented and organized Financial Analyst to join our Finance team. This individual will play a critical role in managing the full Accounts Payable (AP) cycle, overseeing inter-company reporting, handling invoicing to clients, and preparing monthly financial entries and accruals—all while ensuring compliance with SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) requirements. This is a hands-on position ideal for someone who enjoys operational finance and contributing to a high-functioning team.
The role is approximately 60% Accounts Payable and 40% General Accounting
Key Responsibilities
Accounts Payable (AP):
- Complete necessary forms and gather required documentation to create and maintain accurate vendor records in the accounting system.
- Review, code, and post vendor invoices with a high degree of accuracy and in a timely manner.
- Manage credit card transactions, ensuring all charges are properly documented, coded, and accounted for in accordance with company policies.
- Manage expense reports, ensuring all transactions have appropriate back-up and required approvals.
- Process payments through online banking platforms, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and supported by appropriate documentation.
- Reconcile accounts payable balances and proactively resolve discrepancies with vendors to maintain accurate financial records.
Inter-Company and Client Invoicing:
- Prepare and maintain accurate inter-company reports and reconciliations.
- Liaise with inter-company stakeholders to investigate and resolve variances in a timely manner.
- Issue client invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper distribution via email.
Month-End Close Activities:
- Post prepaid expense amortizations and depreciation journal entries.
- Record monthly expense accruals.
- Assist with month-end financial close processes and other ad hoc tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a finance or accounting role, preferably in AP or general accounting.
- Strong understanding of the full accounts payable cycle.
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills. (Pivots, SUMIF)
- Exceptional attention to detail – ensures accuracy in all financial entries and reconciliations.
- Highly organized – able to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
Asset
- Bilingual, French and English
- Experience with SAGE
