As a Strategy Consultant at VML you play a pivotal role in guiding clients towards sustainable and profitable growth across markets, customer segments, channels, and their product/service portfolios​.   

Together with a strategy partner you will design commercial growth strategies and execute multi-disciplinary (digital) transformation programs for our clients. Spanning the entire range of VML’s expertise.  

Who You Are:

  • Strategic thinker with exceptional problem-solving skills. 
  • Strong business acumen with a deep understanding of core business principles, organisational dynamics and the latest in digital marketing and commerce. 
  • Ability to combine business strategy skills with creativity and innovation  
  • Ability to distill, make critical trade-off decisions using sound judgement and synthesize complex data in a way that supports senior leader decision making 
  • Proficient in applying frameworks, conducting market analysis, financial modelling, and competitive assessments and translate main findings into business implications. 
  • Strong understanding of today’s digital marketing and commerce domain, including technologies 
  • Excellent relationship-building skills and the ability to navigate organisational complexities to drive successful change adoption  
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and Dutch, with the ability to adjust your style to suit different perspectives and seniority levels. 

What You Will Do:

  • Develop and refine business strategies, including commercial strategies, growth strategies, product/service positioning, and organizational design. 
  • Support the development and implementation of pragmatic strategic plans, initiatives, and frameworks to help clients achieve their business objectives and overcome challenges. 
  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients, foster strong relationships, understand their needs, and provide strategic guidance and insights. 
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of market trends, competition, industry dynamics, and internal capabilities to inform strategic recommendations and decision-making. 
  • Identify and define complex business problems, develop hypotheses, and design data-driven approaches to test them, using tools such as market analysis, financial modeling, and data interpretation. 
  • Oversee and manage consulting projects, define project scopes, set milestones, allocate resources, and ensure timely delivery of project deliverables within budget. 
  • Prepare and deliver impactful presentations, reports, and recommendations to clients and stakeholders to effectively convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner. 

What You Need:

  • 5-10 years of working experience in providing strategic advice, leading complex digital transformation, and implementing digital solutions for clients 
  • Bachelor's or master's degree. Advanced degrees or certifications in program management, agile methodologies, or relevant industry domains can be beneficial 
  • Currently residing in The Netherlands, within a reasonable commuting distance to our office in Amsterdam
  • Currently eligible to work in The Netherlands, without the need of a visa application.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal in English and Dutch 
  • Ability to attend our office on a weekly basis, as required.

Our compensation:

  • A monthly gross salary from 6,800€ and up to 7,800€, based on experience. 
  • 8% holiday pay.
