What We Are Looking For:
VML is seeking a highly experienced and meticulous Finance Director to play a critical role in managing and reviewing our substantial revenue operations. This position is essential for ensuring robust financial controls and compliance across our diverse client portfolios.
What You'll Do:
Revenue Recognition & Compliance:
- Lead the heavy review of revenue, ensuring strict adherence to IFRS15 revenue recognition policies, including the 5-steps.
- Apply deep knowledge of principal vs. agent distinctions in service-based advertising, understanding the nuances between gross revenue and net sales.
- Review revenue controls across 11 VML portfolios and three legal entities, identifying and mitigating risks.
- Act as a key point of contact for revenue controls.
Audit & Controls:
- Represent the agency in client finance revenue control meetings.
- Ensure contract compliance, including coordination of any third-party audits.
- Work closely with the internal audit team.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Interact daily with various teams, fostering strong working relationships.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive financial information.
Who You Are:
- Expert in Revenue Accounting: Possess profound knowledge and practical experience with IFRS15 and revenue recognition standards, particularly within a service-based industry.
- Analytical & Detail-Oriented: Demonstrate strong analytical skills and an extremely detail-oriented approach to financial data and processes.
- Strong Communicator & Collaborator: Exhibit excellent communication skills, exceptional client-facing and presentation abilities, and a collaborative spirit to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Independent & Organized: Proven ability to work independently, remain highly organized, and multi-task effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Accounting & Audit Savvy: Possess a solid understanding of accounting principles and auditing practices, with some internal audit experience preferred.
What You'll Need:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
- Strong analytical skills.
- Extremely detail-oriented.
- Ability to work independently, remain organized, and multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to keep information confidential.
- 7-10 years of prior experience
