Who we are looking for:

VML is seeking a dynamic, business-minded Senior Financial Analyst to join the team! The Senior Financial Analyst will be part of the North America FP&A (financial planning & analysis) team, which supports the operational Finance team of VML North America. In this role, the Senior Financial Analyst will be in constant contact with the rest of the Regional FP&A, Controller’s Group teams and other Operational teams within VML and WPP. The Senior Financial Analyst will directly report to the Finance Director, NA FP&A.

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will support the day-to-day tasks of the FP&A team
  • You will support FP&A leads in creating regular financial forecasts aligned with the VML business strategy and calendar
  • Autonomously manage monthly and recurrent FP&A deliverables and oversee task workload in coordination with the FP&A Director
  • Provide monthly financial reporting highlighting risks and opportunities with timely and precise analysis
  • Lead recurrent tasks in support of the team in terms of reporting, making sure processes are efficient and ensuring proactive actions for adjustments in coordination with the FP&A Director
  • Support the monthly financial reporting analysis for actuals, forecasts, rolling forecasts and budgets
  • Working in coordination with the rest of the FP&A team on cost analyses, BFC (Financial Consolidation Software) organizational structure, developing and maintaining positive relationships with operational leads
  • Analyzing budget vs. actual costs to ensure alignment of operations to projected levels.
  • Collect, consolidate and analyze recurrent requests
  • Collaborate with the regional Controller’s teams and support the FP&A team on any other special and transversal project as needed
  • Drive reporting accuracy and interact with other FP&A directors to provide consultative support to planning initiatives through financial and management information analyses, reports and recommendations
  • Variance analysis of Actuals vs Budgeting, forecasting for designated P&L line items and Headcount
  • Assist in Forecast Compliance activities as required
  • Avail of and practice Learning & Development initiatives as provided by VML and WPP – Digital Upskilling, AI, etc.

Examples of indicative tasks and processes the Senior Financial Analyst will be involved:

  • Actuals / Rolling Forecasts / Balance of Year
  • Tracking and resolving Intercompany mismatches
  • Tracking New Business Pitch costs by pitch jobs
  • Tracking and analyzing the Awards costs
  • Tracking and analyzing the G&A costs
  • Distribution of regular financial analytical reports to team leads
  • Ad Hoc projects

What you'll need: 

  • Minimum 4 years of FP&A, strategic finance or financial modeling experience, ideally in high-growth or dynamic corporate settings. Good sense of professionalism, urgency and ownership.
  • Fast learner, able to establish priorities to maximize efficiency and collaborate with other groups to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to establish positive and collaborative relationships with the various portfolio, regional and global teams
  • Ability to navigate in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
  • Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Must be able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Excellent system, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excel proficiency (Macros, Pivots, VLOOKUPS, etc. are a plus)
  • BFC Cartesis, BI tools such as Kairos and Merlin are a plus
  • Proficiency in Excel, Power Point and other Office Tools
  • Experience with Anaplan, Adaptive Planning, Workday and/or SAP are a plus

The base salary range for this position at the time of this posting is indicated below. Individual compensation varies based on job-related factors, including location, business needs, level of responsibility, experience, and qualifications.
