VML is looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Automation Quality Engineer to join our QA team. In this role, you will lead the design and development of automated testing strategies and frameworks to ensure the quality, performance, and reliability of our software products. You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other QA team members to build scalable and maintainable automated test suites for web, mobile, and API layers. 

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & ATTRIBUTES 

  • Design, develop, and maintain automated test frameworks like Selenium and JUnit and test suites (UI, API, integration, and performance tests). 
  • Collaborate with development teams to ensure proper test coverage and early defect detection. 
  • Analyze business requirements, user stories, and technical specifications to create comprehensive test plans. 
  • Continuously improve test automation processes, tools, and practices to increase test efficiency and coverage. 
  • Lead test strategy discussions and help define quality standards across the software lifecycle. 
  • Execute automated tests in CI/CD pipelines and contribute to test stability and reporting. 
  • Investigate test failures, analyze root causes, and report defects with clear documentation. 
  • Mentor junior QA engineers and promote a culture of quality across engineering teams. 
  • Actively participate in Agile ceremonies to align testing strategies with development goals and deliverables. 
  • Stay current with the latest industry trends, testing tools, and techniques. 

 

REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 

  • 5+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 3 years focused on test automation. 
  • Proven experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Appium, or similar. 
  • Proficient in one or more programming languages commonly used in automation (e.g., JavaScript, Python, Java). 
  • Experience writing automated tests for APIs using tools like Postman, RestAssured, or similar. 
  • Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test lifecycle, and Agile/Scrum processes. 
  • Hands-on experience integrating tests into CI/CD environments (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions). 
  • Experience with test case management tools (e.g., TestRail, Zephyr) and bug tracking systems (e.g., Jira). 
  • Experience working with e-commerce platforms or CMSs 
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git. 
  • Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 

 

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE 

  • Experience with performance/load testing tools (e.g., JMeter, Gatling, k6). 
  • Familiarity with BDD/TDD approaches and tools like Cucumber or SpecFlow. 
  • Background in testing microservices and cloud-based architectures. 
  • Knowledge of containerization (Docker) and test orchestration using Kubernetes is a plus. 
  • ISTQB or other QA certifications are a bonus.
