Early April, our team spent an incredible few days in New Orleans at #DigitalShelfSummit2025. As proud Platinum Sponsors, we were thrilled to connect with industry leaders and immerse ourselves in the conversation about the future of digital shelf.

Over three packed days, powerful ideas were shared with one clear message: consumer expectations on the digital shelf continue to evolve — and brands must evolve with them.

Here are some of the key takeaways:

  • AI is changing the way consumers shop and is redefining the role of ‘traditional’ Product Detail Pages. AI Agents use every element of product content to provide 1-5 personalized recommendations for each consumer.
  • Accurate and consistent content remains key to success. With the impact of AI on product discovery and ever-changing consumer expectations, brands need to keep optimizing their product content strategy and ecosystem to be able to deliver compelling product experiences on every touchpoint.
  • Adaptability is Essential: The traditional ways of brands operating in commerce are becoming obsolete. Success requires embracing uncertainty, implementing agile planning cycles, fostering cross-functional collaboration, and adopting a "test and learn" mindset to navigate the rapidly evolving landscape.

Personal takeaways from Dennis Peek, Strategy Director PXM

Dennis Peek

Dennis' takeaways are in line with the takeaways above, the biggest impact will be the disruption AI will have on product experience management:

  • AI Agents provide personalized and intent-based product listings for consumers, providing tailored shopping advice, rather than long listing pages with dozens of options for consumers to select from.
  • AI leverages loads of content to understand and promote products. Brands need to better in creating compelling and consistent product experiences at scale across brand websites, retailers, and marketplaces. If the product data living on the digital shelf is incorrect, AI can misinterpret reading it or make up suggestions.
  • AI will disrupt how product content is created, managed and enriched. Generative systems can take care of content variation, translations, attribute mapping and syndication at a much higher speed than humans can, and possibly with a lower risk of errors. This will allow brands to shorten time-to-market significantly and increase scalability for getting new products on shelf.

A huge thank you to Salsify and The Digital Shelf Institute for bringing the community together and sparking important conversations about the future.
