SXSW turned 40 in 2026. And it did so with a message no company can ignore: the world moves too fast for static trend reports.

What matters now is not mapping what is changing — it is understanding how forces collide and what becomes inevitable when that happens.

For the second consecutive year, Brazil was the largest international delegation at the festival. More than 40 Brazilians took the main stage, twice as many as in 2025. Our team was there, splitting across more than 3,700 events, 624 talks and 12 thematic tracks and, from everything we saw, we identified 4 major themes emerging:

AI & Humanization: The real challenge is not access to AI, it is conscious use. While artificial intelligence advances in technical IQ, human emotional intelligence falls behind.

Belonging as Purpose: Loneliness has become an epidemic. Social health is the new third pillar of well-being. People are not just looking for connection: they want and need to make a difference. And when they feel important, they are 4x more engaged and 73% less likely to experience burnout.

Who Owns the Truth?: Algorithms do not distribute the best content — they distribute the most reactive. The problem is not just misinformation: it is the architecture of systems that rewards extreme narratives. In this game, human judgment is the only skill AI does not replace.

Maker Culture and the Infinite Creative: Content does not end when it is consumed. That is where it begins. Fandoms, memes, theories and communities are the true measure of relevance. Brands that understand this go beyond capturing attention and become active agents in the construction of the world(s) their consumers live in and are part of.

A trend reveals what is changing. A convergence indicates what will become inevitable.
