Commander, Navy Recruiting Command
Recruiting healthcare professionals to join the military has been a significant challenge for all branches of the U.S. armed forces. The Navy needed to address this issue by appealing to early-career physicians, nurses, and dentists (aged 26-32) who are seeking meaningful careers that allow them to focus on patient care without the administrative burdens of civilian healthcare.
The campaign draws inspiration from the unique professional and personal aspirations of healthcare professionals, as well as the Navy’s mission to provide purpose-driven careers that prioritize patient care and service to the nation.
The campaign uses unconventional, highly technical language that resonates with medical professionals, demonstrating the Navy’s deep understanding of their field. It also features a YouTube series, “Medicine Unscripted,” where current Navy healthcare professionals share their experiences, highlighting the autonomy, work-life balance, and opportunities for growth that a Navy career offers.
The campaign is delivered through geotargeted, digital out-of-home messaging in high-traffic locations near major healthcare districts and medical facilities in Chicago, Los Angeles, New York, and San Diego. It also includes targeted connected TV, online video, paid social media, paid search, and partnerships with affiliate and job sites.
